Search and Rescue and Cooking Merit Badges
Sandwich Fairgrounds (1401 Suydam Rd, Sandwich, IL 60548) - Enter Gate 3 Building 10 entrance
October 4th-6th. Arrive Friday evening after 5pm
$10.00 per person
What to bring:
Pen, Paper, Search and Rescue and Cooking Merit Badge books (if you have it) and Blue Cards
Bring your best desert recipe and the ingredients to camp because we will have a dessert contest on Saturday.
For dinner we will be having a pot luck dinner. Please bring one entree and side per patrol.
Search and Rescue:
To be more prepared, you can print out the Search and Rescue merit badge worksheet and fill it out,
All scouts that are thinking about doing the SaR merit badge please complete the following.
Requirement 5 - Complete the training for ICS-100, Introduction to Incident Command System. Print out the certificate of completion and show it to your counselor. Discuss with your counselor how the ICS compares with Scouting’s patrol method. See ICS-100 online training.
We will be doing the following S&R requirements at the Camporee
2a-c, 6a-c, 7a-d, 8a-d and 10
Print out the Cooking Merit Badge worksheet, fill it out and be prepared to discuss.
2a - f, 3a - d, 5a - d, 7 and 8
We will have a round robin discussing food born illnesses, menus, the Food Pyramid and types of camp cooking.
Plan your meals and you can knockout three of the six meals for requirement 3 this weekend. Plan your meals in a troop meeting and cook them at camp.
Don't forget about the dessert compatition. Cook your dessert at lunch and bring a small plate up to be judged.
